The project is for Phases 3 and 4 of the $63.7 million “Special Project” for energy and reliability modernization of airfield lighting. July 2017 to Present, Subcontract Amount $11.9 Million+ Design Bid Build Modernization of Airfield Lighting Phase 3 and 4, Virginia Beach, VA and replacement of the airfield lighting electrical vault constant current regulators and interior electrical distribution equipment. The work involves replacement of the runway and taxiway lights, airfield signage circuits, runway 08 threshold lights, wind socks, PAPI lights on each runway end (08 and 26), all constant current regulators with new switchgear style CCR system, and the associated lighting circuits, power circuits, cabling, ducts, etc. The project consists of replacement of the airfield lighting and airfield signage circuiting for the Joint Base Langley-Eustis airfield runway and taxiways.

The airfield work consists of removing the existing taxiway lighting, signage and duct banks installing new concrete encased PVC duct banks including cables, cable tags, blow strings, pull mandrels, counterpoise wire and ground rods install junction can plazas complete with PVC conduits for electrical and drainage provide splicing and termination of medium-voltage cables core drill and install light base cans and drain pipes for light cans furnish and install taxiway and runway lights complete with snow plow rings, grounding and counterpoise system install guidance signs with new concrete sign foundations/pads provide and install new 15Kva regulator. Provide runway and taxiway lighting systems and visual navigation aids for the reconstruction of Taxiway Whiskey. October 2017 to Present, Subcontract Amount $2.1 Million+

Replace Upgrade Taxiway Whiskey, Joint Base Andrews, MD Provide new fiber optic cable from ATCT to vault building for ALCMS if necessary. Install new regulators in the vault building and add breakers as necessary to feed the new regulators.

Provide and install airfield series cable, PVC conduits, complete grounding and counterpoise system, HDPE pipes for directional boring, light base cans and snow plow rings. Work includes all new taxiway, runway threshold and helipad lights, PAPI’s and MALSR approach lighting.
